Kitchen philosophy

The goal of the Onyx Műhely is to present a progressive Hungarian cuisine that is based on the interweaving of art, science, gastronomy, and the spirit of Hungarian cuisine.

We discovered the deep-rooted relationship of Hungarian culinary culture with vegetables, soups, and pasta, and - through our food planning - we incorporated these elements into our dinners.

Instead of redefining old recipes, we guide you to the unique way of thinking of our Creative Community by pushing the boundaries of fine dining.

Onyx restaurant, which was established in 2007, has transformed one of its old spaces into Onyx Műhely in 2021. With a renewed concept, we aim to revolutionize the traditional fine dining experience. We have created a unique community experience by offering interactive dinners around the community table and in the gastronomic library, providing our guests with a behind-the-scenes look into the meal preparation process.

Onyx Műhely also serves as a research, development, and innovation centre for our Creative Community. It is where we design our signature ONYX dishes and offer insights into the food planning process during our dinners and events.

We believe that fine dining is more than just good food. It's an immersive social experience that takes you on a journey of connection and discovery. Our community table can seat up to 16 people and is the heart of our restaurant. Here, strangers become acquaintances through shared experiences and interactions. The basis of the design processes of our Creative Community is mutual interaction. We included this in the dining experience, since sitting at our communal table, our guests connect not only with the members of our Creative Community but also with each other during dinners.
