At Onyx Műhely, diversity is not only celebrated but also our driving force! Regardless of age, gender, and professional background, we are all indispensable to rewriting the rules of fine dining with passion and creativity.
At the beginning of 2020, after 14 years of operation and earning and keeping two Michelin Stars, the Onyx Metamorphoses, the restaurant's complete transformation, began.
This is how the Onyx Creative Community was created.
Whether you are a chef, an artist, a designer or a dreamer, everyone is represented in our Creative Community. The cornerstone of our Creative Community is cross-inspiration: While working, we are constantly inspired by each other's unique talents, experiences, and stories.
But the focus is not only on inspiration but also on its utilisation in perfecting our food, drink, and guest experience. That's why we have development workgroups where ideas come to life. Together we brainstorm, innovate, and turn ideas into reality.
We believe that one plus one can be three. The more diverse we are, the more diverse our operation is. Magic happens when perspectives from different disciplines come together.
Instead of the traditional executive chef-centred model, we work in different working groups based on democratic decisions, combining the fields of art, science, gastronomy, and sustainability.

After 14 successful years, we started the complete transformation of Hungary's first two Michelin-starred Onyx. As part of this, the Onyx Műhely opened in 2021 and has been awarded the Michelin Green Star for two years now.
We operate in a way that is different from the established market operation, where we create a common intersection of gastronomy, art, science, and sustainability. The different working groups are created together.
We make our decisions by majority vote. The team comes before the individual.
Our operation is fundamentally determined by a sustainable approach - both in terms of raw materials and work processes.
We also pay special attention to the care and education of future talents in the fields of gastronomy & design.
The result of joint creation becomes a dining experience.
